Cluster 2: Understanding the Relationship between Numbers and Quantities

Cluster 2 continues the work of Cluster 1 by having students continue to describe and sort
objects by attributes, but now students count the objects sorted (ex. How many are red? How
many are blue? How many cylinders in your tower? How many cones?) Students learn key counting vocabulary and perceptually subitize the number of objects in a group of up to five objects.  (See About this Cluster and the Unpacking Document below for more details on this cluster.)
